A day to remember...

On Monday 16th May, Springdale children and staff were lucky enough to experience a visit from the inspiring Darren Harris, who is a double Paralympian and England's most capped and decorated blind footballer. The morning consisted of the children carrying out their sponsored circuits followed by an assembly with Darren where he shared his story and children were able to ask him lots of questions. Throughout the exercise circuits he encouraged children to persevere and encouraged the children to dance and clap along to support their classmates. The morning was inspirational to us all and we hope that it will be a memory for the children to cherish and carry with them for years to come. Darren certainly made the children smile and laugh throughout the morning, which everyone has needed after the last few years! Darren ensured his visit was relative to the children at Springdale and being a 'local lad' he loved being back close to his roots! Thank you all for the support you have offered through sponsorships! Sports Council will feedback in the next few weeks to share with you what resources we have been able to fund for sport at Springdale!
