Happy Advent from Year 1!

In RE this week, Year 1 talked about the way Christians mark Advent. We learnt that Christingle is a festive celebration that takes place during advent. We made our own Christingles and learnt that each part has a different meaning. We now know that the orange is to represent the world, the ribbon is God's love, the sweets show God's creations, the sticks are for the four corners of the world and the candle is to represent Jesus being the light of the world, to bring hope to those in darkness. We really enjoyed making them and thinking about the meaning behind them.
