Last week, year 4 really enjoyed using the crumble software as part of our DT project. The children were able to apply their Science knowledge to create circuits using a battery pack, wires, LEDs and a switch and then used ICT to program, monitor and control their designs. First we used the software to make one LED light for Rudolph's nose, then we added in a second LED to light baubles on their Christmas trees. After that we made a sequence of flashing lights to decorate the tree. Finally, we used this information to programme a code for the alternating red and blue lights on a police car and added a switch to turn them on and off. The year 4 staff were impressed with children's attitude and focus and the initiative and independence of many to come up with their own programming instructions. Well done!
