You may have seen in the news that schools are possibly reopening in June to Nursery Reception, Year 1 and Year 6 pupils if the Government decide it is safe to do so.
Current government announcements will mean that over 220 pupils will be eligible to attend Springdale Primary School. In addition there will be staff and outside agencies attending.
We are currently waiting for further guidance from the Local Authority, Government and Unions which will support us in creating our action plan for the phased reopening.
It is a very uncertain time for us all. You may appreciate that planning to open, if at all, on a date that not yet been decided means that I haven’t much detail to give you at the moment.
What I can tell you is that any planning will put the safety of you, your children and staff as the highest priority.
If a phased return to school does happen, to ensure children and staff are safe it will be carried out gradually. This will be most important in any steps we take. We are working to make sure we can welcome children safely into school when a decision is made.
We do not want you to feel pressured to send your children to school, since you know your family situation best.
As soon as we know more, we will keep you updated with all our plans for making sure the school is as safe as possible, so you can make an informed decision.
We would like to thank you for your on-going support with home learning. If the Government decide it is safe to reopen, our staff will continue to provide online work and resources throughout the phased return.
Thank you for your support, take care and stay safe.
Mrs JE Hopkins
